Purity is determined by gradient reversed-phase HPLC with UV detection at 214 nm, which is where the peptide bond absorbs and therefore where every peptide species in the sample is visible. Identity is confirmed by electrospray mass spectrometry against the theoretical mass for the sequence. Water content is measured by Karl Fischer titration, because residual moisture affects both stability and the concentration you calculate from vial weight.
Material that falls outside specification is rejected rather than sold at a lower grade. Where an oxidised or related species is present at release it is reported as its own line on the certificate instead of being folded into a single figure.
What ships with an order
