Ordering, testing, handling, shipping, and what we will not do.
Ordering
- Who can buy from Ryzen?
- Researchers, laboratories, universities, hospital research groups, contract research organisations and companies doing product development. We do not supply individuals for personal use, and orders indicating personal use are refused.
- Is there a minimum order?
- No. Single vials are fine. Trade pricing starts from the first order once an organisation is verified.
- How do I pay?
- Card payment is not enabled yet. You place the order, we email a proforma invoice with bank details and confirm stock. Institutions and trade accounts can order on 30-day purchase-order terms instead. No card details are collected on this site.
- Can you supply a compound that is not listed?
- Often. Send the sequence or CAS number with the quantity and we will quote with a lead time. Custom lines are released to the same specification and carry the same certificate as catalogue stock.
- Can I get a quotation for a grant application?
- Yes, on letterhead with itemised pricing, lead times and a validity date. Most go out the same day, and we will extend the validity where a funding decision is months away.
Testing and certificates
- What purity do you release at?
- Most peptide lines at not less than 99.0% area-percent by RP-HPLC; longer sequences and non-peptide compounds at not less than 98.0%. The specification for each line is on its product page and the measured figure is on its certificate.
- Are the peptides third party tested?
- Yes, at an independent contract laboratory in addition to the manufacturer's release testing. Where an independent result is available, that is the figure on the certificate.
- Where do I find my certificate?
- Enter the batch code from the vial on the batch verification page. Every released batch is published, so the same document is available before ordering and years afterwards.
- Why does the certificate show two different percentages?
- Because chromatographic purity and net peptide content answer different questions. Purity is what proportion of the peptide present is the target. Net peptide content is what proportion of the powder is peptide at all, after water and counter-ion. Calculate concentration from the second one.
- What happens to material that fails specification?
- It is rejected. It is not relabelled, downgraded or blended into a compliant batch.
Handling and storage
- The vial looks empty. Is it?
- Almost certainly not. At low fill weights the lyophilised cake forms a thin translucent film on the vial wall rather than a visible pellet. Fill weight is verified gravimetrically at packing; quote the batch code if you want the packing record.
- Which diluent should I use?
- Sterile water where the solution will be used promptly, bacteriostatic water where it will be held for weeks at 2–8 °C. A few compounds — humanin and dihexa — need a DMSO stock and aqueous dilution. Each product page states what its compound needs.
- How should I store material?
- Lyophilised at −20 °C, desiccated and dark, in a manual-defrost freezer. Reconstituted solution at 2–8 °C for the period stated on the product page, which varies from 7 to 28 days by compound. Aliquot at first reconstitution rather than returning to one vial repeatedly.
- Can I shake the vial to dissolve it faster?
- No. Peptides denature at air–liquid interfaces and agitation creates a great deal of interfacial area. Add diluent down the vial wall, swirl gently, and wait. Lipidated peptides are particularly sensitive to this.
Shipping
- When is my order dispatched?
- Same working day for orders placed before 14:00, on a tracked service. After the cut-off, or at a weekend, the next working day.
- Do you ship outside the UK?
- Yes, across the EU and to selected other territories, with correct customs documentation and the certificate travelling with the goods. Import compliance and any duty or local VAT are the buyer's responsibility.
- Does material need cold shipping?
- No. Lyophilised peptides are stable at ambient temperature for the duration of transit. Put them at −20 °C on arrival.
- Is the packaging discreet?
- Outer packaging is plain and carries no description of the contents beyond what customs requires on the commercial invoice.
Limits
- Can this material be used in humans or animals?
- No. Everything we supply is for laboratory research and analytical use only. It is not a medicine, food, cosmetic or veterinary product, and it is not manufactured, tested or released to any standard that would support administration to humans or animals.
- Can you advise on dosing?
- No, and we do not reply to enquiries asking for it. We publish reconstitution and concentration arithmetic for laboratory preparation, which is not the same thing and must not be used as though it were.
- Do you supply GMP or pharmaceutical grade material?
- No. If a project requires GMP material we are not the right supplier and will tell you so rather than sell you something that does not meet the requirement.
- Is it legal to buy research peptides in the UK?
- Supplying and holding these compounds for legitimate laboratory research is lawful in the UK, and that is the basis on which we sell. Rules differ by territory and by compound, and it is the buyer's responsibility to establish what is permitted where they are. We cannot advise on the law in your jurisdiction.
