MOTS-c research: what the evidence actually shows

A mitochondrial peptide that regulates a nuclear metabolic sensor. What the primary literature establishes, what it does not, and what that means for anyone designing work with it.

How these are written

Primary sources, and where the evidence stops

Compound guides are written from the primary literature, cited by author and journal so you can go and read it. Where a body of evidence is thin, contested, or drawn from a small number of groups, these guides say so — and where a finding is a mouse finding, it is described as a mouse finding. That is less exciting than the summaries circulating elsewhere and considerably more useful when you are designing an experiment.
